Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service. We may amend these Terms from time to time; the current version is always available at this URL and continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Service Description

PDFLocal is a collection of browser-based utilities for working with PDF files. All file processing is performed locally inside your browser using WebAssembly; uploaded files are not transmitted to our servers as part of the core processing flow. A lightweight server is used solely for license validation, daily usage-limit enforcement, and anonymous daily counts of which tools are used, as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. License Grant (Free Tools)

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the free tier of the Service for your personal or internal business purposes. You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, host, or otherwise commercially exploit the Service or any part of it.

4. Pro License

The Pro tier is unlocked by a one-time license purchase from our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy. A valid license key grants the purchaser a lifetime license to use the Pro tools on any device under their personal control. License keys are personal and may not be shared, resold, or transferred. We reserve the right to revoke license keys that show signs of abuse or fraudulent activation.

Refund eligibility is governed separately by our Refund Policy.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

• process content that infringes a third party’s intellectual-property rights;
• process content that is illegal under the law of your jurisdiction or ours;
• attempt to circumvent the daily usage limit, license activation, or any other technical measure;
• send automated traffic, scrape, or otherwise abuse the rate-limited server endpoints;
• introduce malware or other harmful code through the Service.

6. Limitations of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In no event shall Revolt Bots LLC, its affiliates, or its suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Pro license (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

You are solely responsible for keeping your own backups of any files you process. PDFLocal does not store your files and therefore cannot recover lost or corrupted output.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease. Sections 3-9 survive any termination.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, excluding its conflict-of-law provisions. The exclusive venue for any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be the state and federal courts located in Florida, United States, to the extent permitted by law. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of the country in which you reside remain unaffected.
